The last time I used a blog was a couple years ago (in case you are interested, this can still be accessed at suchbros.blogspot.com). At the time, I was still living with my parents and younger brother in Lyons, Colorado. In the fall of 2014 that all changed, as I moved to Gunnison, Colorado, to pursue my undergraduate degree in Environmental Biology and Ecology at Western State Colorado University. This move also facilitated the furthering of my passion for distance running, as I compete as a collegiate cross country and track athlete for the Western State Mountaineers.
Through the years, my interests have shifted and evolved, but my deepest passion remains firmly with birds. Located on the western slope of Colorado, Gunnison is nestled in the bottom of a large, sagebrush dominated basin, surrounded on all sides by sheer peaks and thick montane forest. With its incredible array of habitats, the birding opportunities in Gunnison County abound, and it is these experiences which I plan to chronicle with this blog.
